The Course - November 8-11, 2019

In this weekend journey to Mexico City, you will see and learn about the first through mature works of muralism in Mexico City of three great masters:  Diego Rivera, David Alfaro Siqueiros, and José Clemente Orozco.  We will visit the Palacio Nacional , National Preparatory School, Palacio de Bellas Artes (featuring the magnificent “Man at the Crossroads” by Rivera), the Dolores Olmedo Museum, and the studio of Frida Khalo and Diego Rivera in the San Angel district.

Guided by Ginger Bandoni and Alberto Lenz, we will be immersed in the search of a new art for a new society of the Mexican post-revolutionary era, visiting the places of Mexico City ́s historical downtown where Vasconcelos, Rivera, Siqueiros and Orozco forged the foundations of a movement that transformed Mexican art and impacted the world.
