Experienced teachers specializing in teaching Spanish with hands-on, engaging techniques that WORK, we create unique courses in Mexico for professional groups, as well as all levels and ages of Spanish speakers.

Susana Bautista

Born in San Miguel de Allende, Gto. to 'sanmiguelense' parents, she has been a faithful and passionate student of Mexican culture and foreign languages.

She studied Languages with a major in Spanish for foreigners at the Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro (UAQ). She was a scholar at Western Michigan University (WMU) where she taught Spanish and studied Master of Arts & Hispanic Literature. She speaks English, French, Italian and is proficient in other languages at a communicative level.

She has extensive experience as a teacher of Spanish, English, Italian and French, in addition to serving several associations as a volunteer translator and interpreter. She enjoys teaching her culture, meeting people, traveling, reading, dancing, swimming and cooking. Susana believes that there is always something new to learn in every aspect, but above all, to share that learning and knowledge with others.

Elsanne Barrows

With a moniker of “Grammar Guru” and 21 years in Mexico, Elsanne’s Masters in Education is a superfluous pedigree. This rockstar teacher loves teaching Spanish and comes from the rocky land of Spanish as a Second Language, sharing shortcuts and guidance with skill and expertise.


Her education is a B. A. In Education (Spanish, Secondary level) and M. Ed. (English). Her passion is dance, which in true dreams-come-true, follow-your-bliss fashion turned into a serious professional pursuit here in Mexico. Besides a dance studio, she has trained over 170 professional dance teachers around Mexico and internationally.

Paola Velasco

Paola is a proud Mexican, teacher, and mother. She lives with her family in San Miguel de Allende, and has been teaching Spanish and Latin American Literature for more than 12 years. She offers courses such as: Spanish as a Second Language for all levels, and Teenagers – active and recreational activities. Youth and Adults are welcome!

Her Spanish Classes improve awareness of Spanish and are recommended for those who need to work on specific details in their use of the language. They are also good for those who already speak Spanish well but find themselves tripping over common errors. She also teaches Latin American poetry, Latin American tales (Narrative), Magical Mexican Realism, Great Latin American Novelists, and Myths and legends of Mexico.

Edith Rodriguez

A graduate of University Autónoma de Querétaro, México, Edith has been teaching Spanish to international students at all levels for more than two decades, both as an instructor at the Instituto Allende and as a popular private teacher.

Born and raised in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, to a family with multi-generational roots in the historic city, Edith brings a wealth of historical and cultural knowledge to her classes, including mastery of salsa dancing. Always eager to bring new materials and approaches to her work, Edith is pleased to be part of the Language Adventure Pros team!
